This post is a part of SoCS, Stream of Consciousness Saturday, found on this blog http://lindaghill.wordpress.com/2014/09/19/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-september-2014
This is the first time I have ever participated in a prompt. I’m not sure why, other than the fact that often I am not aware of their existence, not having run into them a lot. This particular one, about the word Average, was found when I read the response of one of my fellow bloggers and it just popped into my head that it would be fun to take part!
My first reaction to the word average was and alway is “is there such a thing? What is average?” What is an average day in my life like, especially now that I have retired? When I was still working, I could say going to work took up most of my average day. But silly me, I don’t like being average, I don’t want to be average and I hope I am not — I think! told you–silly me!
Like everyone’s day pretty much, mine starts with getting out of bed and getting a cup of coffee and breakfast, and checking emails and Facebook. Anything after that is fair game! Some days I may get dressed right away and go out to see people or do errands. Another day I might just vegetate in front of my computer for the morning in my jammies and then decide what to do next, and that is always subject to change on a whim! Do I want to sew or quilt, do housework or laundry, curl up with a good book for the afternoon and be lazy? Visit someone or take a nap? take a walk or hibernate indoors? Cook a great meal or go out to eat instead? I just don’t always know. (being single and living alone, I have this luxury). 🙂
I guess all of that is to say that this is what is “average for me”, and every one of us has our own definition of what average is for us and that makes us all so much more than average. It makes us unique individuals! How wonderful is that?
Have a wonderful Saturday everyone! God bless you all. 🙂
