3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
Today, June 12, 2014, marks the 40th anniversary at our church in Wisconsin of a very special pastor and his wife, Pastor Michael Gordon and his wife, Mrs. Carole Gordon. 40 years ago today they arrived at our church to begin their ministry and they are still with us and still going strong!!
Pastor and Mrs. Gordon are an amazing couple who are and have been a blessing to many, many people! They are very hard-working and their love for the Lord is apparent in all they say and do; always willing to be there on a moment’s notice for anyone who needs them, spending many long hours shepherding their flock as Jesus would have them do. They, of course, will tell you that it is not their doing but the Lord’s doing! Very humbly they will always say that all the glory goes to the Lord.
I personally can say they have been a special blessing to me. Their encouragement has brought me a long way way in my personal walk with the Lord! I recently read an article someone wrote that said something like if you feel like you don’t find the presence of Christ in the church you are attending, you may be attending the wrong church. There may not be anything wrong with the church at all but it just doesn’t provide what you are searching for. I had not thought about that really until I read that statement and as I thought about it, I realized how true it can be! I have attended/been a member of several different churches over the years of my life and I have found Christ in our church! The credit, besides going to Christ himself of course, goes to Pastor and Mrs. Gordon in the way they minister to everyone and stress the fact that we are a church family, not just a group of strangers getting together on Sunday mornings. That love for all of us affects everyone in how we interact with one another. What a blessing!
Pastor and Carole–Congratulations on 40 successful years and best wishes for many more years to come! Love you both!
“Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.” (I Tim. 5:17,18) KJV
